Denver Healthy People 2010 is a community-wide network of partners dedicated to making Denver a healthy place for all. Led by the Denver Department of Environmental Health, Denver Healthy People 2010 is based on the goals of Healthy People 2010, the Nation’s agenda for promoting health.
The Denver Healthy People 2010 program has partnered with stakeholders, including governmental leaders, community and school organizations, and residents, from the diverse Park Hill neighborhood to create Park Hill Thriving Communities.
Park Hill Thriving Communities targets three areas for improving the health of residents: programs, environment and policy. Goals include the following:
Eliminate health disparities by addressing healthy eating and active living among those at greater risk for obesity and diseases associated with obesity.
- Provide new opportunities for healthy eating and active living through programs, environment and policy.
- Support efforts that are sustainable due to community involvement and support.
- Involve community members who represent all demographics of the Park Hill community.
