Collaboration

Longmont is a community that has a long history of working together. From our Focus on Longmont Strategic Plan to our Multicultural Action Committee, Longmont’s citizens, businesses and nonprofits are known for collaborating for positive change.   While we have many community collaborations, this was the first time that a volunteer leadership group came together with a focus on improving overall community health outcomes through active living and healthy eating. Having our mayor, President of the School Board and other top leaders in our community convene on the LiveWell Longmont Steering Committee demonstrates the commitment in this first planning year while our action plan for Year One of Implementation illustrates the continued commitment for subsequent years (including those beyond the lifecycle of a LiveWell grant). 

In addition, this volunteer group has taken the lead on developing the LiveWell Longmont Coalition (mentioned above) that defines itself with input by community members and provides the guidance to align LiveWell Longmont with complementing initiatives in our community.
