Chefs Needed for Statewide School Meal Initiative
LiveWell Colorado is a non-profit organization committed to reducing obesity rates in Colorado by promoting healthy eating and active living. The Cook for America™ Culinary Boot Camps were created to improve the capacity for Colorado school districts to serve cooked-from-scratch meals to students. This will be accomplished by offering training for school food service supervisors, directors and managers, and training a statewide team of chefs capable of offering ongoing culinary training to school districts committed to preparing and serving cooked-from-scratch meals with whole, fresh foods.
 
We are currently seeking qualified chefs to participate in an intensive two-week training course to become certified chef instructors for Cook for America™ Culinary Boot Camps coordinated by LiveWell Colorado. This course will be held from January 9 -21. Selected candidates will be taught how to train school food service personnel to provide healthy cooked-from-scratch school meals. All participants are required to attend four (4) week-long culinary boot camps to complete the certification process. Stipends will be provided as well as all travel and hotel accommodations. In addition, participants who have completed our certification process will be offered consulting contracts to provide on-site trainings and evaluations to school districts throughout the state.

Report Writer Needed for Statewide School Meal Initiative
LiveWell Colorado (LWC) is seeking proposals from professional writers for Cook for America™ School Meal Assessment Program.

The purpose of the Cook for America™ School Meal Assessment Program is to assess the capacity for public school districts to serve cooked- from-scratch meals in an effort to assist the districts in improving the quality of school meals served to students. LWC will work with food service directors and other district administrators to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of school districts’ food service programs and develop a unique action plan for each district to aid in the transformation of the program into a healthy cooked-from-scratch meal preparation system. The length of time required to complete each assessment will depend on the size of the school district. Assessments of smaller districts may take one to two weeks, while larger districts may require four or more weeks.
 

LWC is seeking professional writers who have a minimum of 5-7 years of writing experience.
